Faculty Who "Reply-All"

A despised element of faculty culture is the addiction to using "Reply-All" after receiving informational emails. I could post examples of many received in the past year - but I won't. That might be the ultimate "Reply-All" putting these inane examples out on the interwebs for all to see.

There are, I'm sure, several psycho-pathological reasons why many (thankfully, a minority) faculty members feel obligated to use "Reply-All" to air their disagreements, concerns, commentaries to the entire email list. I suggest replying directly and only to the email author. Thus sparing the rest of us from the email spam-storms, large and small, created - and preserving the value and intent of the original message.
