I've been thinking about (and working on) the "online classroom of the future" - a place ripe for "disruptive innovation".
- Using game mechanics and compulsion loops to motivate and guide the learner through "playing" the class.
- Curated content - discussion posts, projects, (online students are all over the country and the world) Read about MOOC's
- Living interface (changes dynamically through interaction) Artifact Tech-style
- Immediate feedback and grading AI - like a game - no waiting for a teacher to grade...participation is graded in real time - "players" can improve their score through loops of interaction...etc. It's the best of real time in an asynchronous world.
